Today being the first Friday the 13th of the year means it is also national it’s blame somebody else day.
You know you hear about these random days, I think mostly made up by card manufacturers to entice us into buying shit we don’t need to, you know like valentines day 🙂
Anyway, this day started way back in 1982
It was started by Anne Moller in Michigan who started it as an excuse for not keeping her appointments that day and running late for work. It just happened to fall on the first Friday the 13th that year.
So this is a day where you can go all Shaggy on someone and say it wasn’t you, but don’t forget to blame someone or something else.
On to the reason I’m writing this
We as humans will look to blame someone or something else for not getting something done.
There is always a reason behind it.
This is especially true when it comes to our own health and fitness.
There is always a reason or someone else is to blame for you not doing what you said you were going to do.
Work is busy, the kids are playing up, I don’t have time to cook.
I don’t have time to exercise
Well so and so didn’t show so I didn’t go
It was such and such’s fault I ate the cake, if they didn’t buy it I wouldn’t eat it.
But when it comes down to it.
There is only one person to blame
That person
is
You
Yes you!
You are the only person that is in control of what goes on in your life.
You have the ability to choose whether you want to eat that cake or not go to the gym
So stop making excuses, stop blaming someone else for your own failures to achieve what you want.
If you really want it you will go out there and get it, you will work for it.
Stop looking for those easy excuses and quick fixes.
Ask yourself before you do one of those, how many have you tried in the past?
If they work long term why are you still trying?
