Recently I got to go and watch Inferno
Now if you’ve read the book you know what it’s about, if not expect a spoiler or two
Now it’s about the human race getting too big and someone wanting to cull the human race by letting loose the new black plague
It’s pretty fast moving as you would expect from a Dan Brown book, and don’t get me wrong viruses are getting stronger and now doubt something will come along and wipe out a significant portion of us.
But it got me thinking.
What is the virus out there at the moment that is doing a good enough job of killing us off.
Yes we have Cancer and yes that is a bastard and we need to do whatever we can to stop it but we have something else. However I can’t do anything about that apart from give them my money and hope they come up with something to wipe it off the face of the earth.
However there is something else that if we combatted and beat we could help reduce the number of Cancer attacks, I’m not saying stop it but it can help reduce it.
That is the fact we are doing a bloody good job of killing ourselves of with poor health and obesity.
We are not only doing it to us we are doing it to our kids as well.
Now I know a lot of you reading this are doing what you can to make yourself healthy, and you are inspiring your kids to do the same which is the way it should be,
So where is the problem?
We seem to want to make particular types of food evil, we need a bad guy but unfortunately there isn’t any really bad food, it’s the amount of it all we eat.
We just eat too much, especially for our lifestyles which in the whole are quite sedentary
If we were really active then it would counteract a lot of the food we eat.
So don’t demonise a food type, learn something about portion control.
Learn how much you should be eating, then be flexible about what you eat.
Learn that you can eat 1600 calories with 3 really good meals and snacks or eat 1600 calories with a box of pringles and some wine.
If you want help learning about portion control then fill this out and I will give you a call back and let’s get you eating better
No time like the present to start
