So the first film of the year I was waiting for was released last week.
I got to see it at the weekend and I was not disappointed.
A grand job done Mr Boyle, well done.
I’m not going to go into the details on the film, if you liked the first Trainspotting then you will like this.
Even the whole choose life monologue got updated.
“Choose lifeChoose Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and hope that someone, somewhere caresChoose looking up old flames, wishing you’d done it all differentlyAnd choose watching history repeat itselfChoose your futureChoose reality TV, slut shaming, revenge pornChoose a zero hour contract, a two hour journey to workAnd choose the same for your kids, only worse, and smother the pain with an unknown dose of an unknown drug made in somebody’s kitchenAnd then… take a deep breathYou’re an addict, so be addictedJust be addicted to something elseChoose the ones you loveChoose your futureChoose life”
What has this got to do with your health journey, well it’s simple really, you get to choose.
Now you have those options, you can either continue hating yourself, being unhappy, potentially spending your life on pills and constantly visiting the doctors, moaning about how life is shit, moaning about this and that, spending your time watching everyone else’s life in front of you on social media, thinking why isn’t my life as good as that and why can’t I look like that.
You can do that, or you can choose life.
Choose taking care of yourself.
Choose to eat better.
Choose to get strong as fuck.
Choose being healthy, being better.
Choose loving yourself.
Choose being able to enjoy life
Choose to not being defined by some health condition that you can change via your lifestyle.
Choose not to be defined by constantly being on that diet and being that person who is always trying to lose weight
Choose to fucking smile at the world, face it and be brilliant.
